AI prompts for personal growth (and getting unstuck) - because yes, everyone else is doing it, and yes… it actually helps.
I haven’t written in a while.
Not because I haven’t had anything to say. There’s always something brewing. Thoughts, feelings, ideas (big or small), don’t always get verbalized or activated.
Why?
Because life gets busy and being in my own head is often my safe space. For those that know me, or take the time to read my posts, you already know, that’s a Star thing. It’s where I reflect, reset, and sometimes hide and retreat… but that’s a post for another day.

It's Giving Stuck: Mid-Year Feels
Is it just me? Every so often, I hit this phase where I feel, “stuck”.
Now, my version of “stuck” might look totally different than yours. My “Stuck” looks like:
High-functioning procrastination
Decision fatigue
and the worst of it, social paralysis (translation: I don't want to do anything that involves other humans).
It’s not all doom and gloom though.
There’s always a little inner voice that reminds me: You are not privileged enough to stay stuck for long.

AI For the Assist
So, as I try to get ME together while getting me together (you know what I mean), here's what's helping me slowly climb out of my personal quicksand.
I’ve been working on an AI project at work developing use cases for a data bot. But one evening after work, I decided switch gears and use a different AI tool, with the focus on me.
I asked a few personal "what if" questions:
What kind of career recognition am I craving, and what impact have I already made that I'm overlooking?
If I gave myself permission to pivot right now, what would I walk towards?
What does "stuck" actually look like for me right now? Is it avoidance, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or burnout?
And just like that! I got sucked into the matrix.
Edges? Snatched, the responses came for me so hard on questions 2 & 3, I almost felt like squabbling up with AI.
But here's the plot twist:
My "stuck-ness" became my own test case.
Deep in my rabbit hole, I unexpectedly found clarity.

AI reminded me:
The year isn't over. Keep Grinding.
Start over, flip it, reverse it. There's still time to realign.
You are not alone, and you don't have to do it all manually.
AI isn’t just a solution for workplace productivity or school research papers.
When used with intention, it can help guide you out of your own head, process, plan, and pivot with intention.
Whether you check your vision board regularly, haven’t touched it in months, never made one, or can barely think beyond survival mode, this post is for you. It's all about how to use AI to guide your mid-year reset.
Mid-Year Reset with AI: Chat...Get Me Together
What I learned (and am still learning) is this: AI can be helpful outside of work.
I use it like a sounding board, coach, and a thought partner – an MVP on my personal board of directors.
Do I have people? Yes.
A therapist, real friends, and a professional network. But sometimes, I don’t’ know?
You need pre-validation before the validation.
You want to give unfiltered rawness, and everyone deserves access to that space.
Let's Normalize Accepting All Forms of Support
If you used Google today? Congratulations! You’re using AI. You don’t need to be a marketing guru for this to work for you. You can use whatever AI tool you want, Gemini, Copilot, you name it. The key is to be intentional and specific.
I treat my AI prompts like SMART goals:
Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely.
I am specific and define the role I want my AI to play and clear about the outcome I’m looking for.
My Go-To Prompts (for when I'm trying to get me together)
Here’s how I'm using AI to get unstuck and organize prompts across three areas where I need the most clarity:
Professional Prompts
For Workplace Authenticity: You’re my career coach who gets that bringing your whole self to work is easier said than done. Help me identify where I’m being inauthentic vs where professional boundaries make sense.
For Workplace Recognition: You’re my workplace hype man. (think Flavor Flav or Spliff Star energy) I’m going to tell you what I’ve accomplished so far. Help me see the impact and remind me why these moment matter.
(This is great when you’re prepping for mid-year check-ins or just feeling overlooked/undervalued.)
Professional Prompts
For Distractions: I'm feeling distracted. Help me figure out what's asking for more attention - my mind, body, or spirit. Ask me follow-up questions and suggest small, doable actions.
For Daily Habits: What’s one small daily habit that future me will thank me for? Consider my current capacity, energy, and goals.
Financial Prompts
For Real Talk: You are my non-judgmental financial therapist and strategic advisor rolled into one.
I want to have an honest conversation about my finances.
For example, I want to plan a vacation (I want to be OUTSIDE). Help me assess where I stand—ask me gentle but direct questions about income, spending, debt, and savings. Then help me build a plan that aligns with my real life.
For Prioritizing Money Moves: Help me get clear on my financial priorities for the rest of 2025.
(Door dash and the kids Cash App me is killing me).
I want to build an emergency fund / save for [goal] / increase my income. Break it down into monthly and weekly steps—without asking me to sacrifice my loc retwist every 6 weeks.
Mid-Year Reset: Reflecting & Resetting with Intention
As 702 once sang: “I don’t really wanna go, I don't really wanna stay, but I really need to know…Can we get it together?”
The answer?
Obviously, yes.
But you don’t have to get it all together. Just the next thing.
And maybe, using AI outside of our workday, is one of the gentlest ways forward.
